5 ways to reduce your waste and find another use for your candle jars.
Our glass jars can be washed out and re-used in so many different ways or simply recycled to ensure a perfectly good item can be used to its full potential and not end up in landfill. Below I will talk about 5 different ideas to inspire you to re-use your Emily Kate Candle jars when they are finished.
1. Stationary Pot
If you are like me and can never get enough stationary then this is the perfect storage solution for you!
This is a great way to store pens, pencils, rulers, rubbers, highlighters and more and is accessible, compact and easily washable making it simple for you to store excess stationary wherever you like to work. It is not only practical but also aesthetically pleasing , it is completely up to you how you style your stationary and whether you place the things you use the most or items that match the design of the room.
2. Match Holder
Matches are a candle essential so having a match holder near your candles is ideal!
Something that I find annoying is when you are either unable to find something or what you're looking for is far away. Keeping your matches in a jar is not only useful but looks more finished than a matchbox and to throw away all your matchbox packaging you could even attach the striking surface to the side of the jar. This is an easy solution and saves space and time in your daily life.
3. Glass for drinks
Drinks are a huge part of our daily lives and why not re-purpose a candle jar as a new glass to hold your favourite beverage?
My jars are the perfect size to hold a small drink of water, wine or cocktails etc and once finished with can be put in the dishwasher and re-used as much as you want like any other cup/glass.
4. Makeup Brush Holder
For some people, makeup is something they use every day each person does their makeup slightly different to everyone else. Whether you are going for a natural, daily look or a colourful, glam style makeup brushes are necessary.
Using your empty candle jar to store any size makeup brushes or tools is a great idea to save space and keep your area tidy and clean. Any excess makeup that falls into the jar can be washed out in the dishwasher ensuring hygiene in your home.
5. Flower/Plant Vase
Flowers and plants are a great addition to any room and can make a room feel fresh and light with a little touch of nature.
But of course to stay pretty the plants need plenty of water and whether you want to use them for decor or to stay fresh as a cooking ingredient, having a vase to put them in is a nice little touch to add to the look of the room.
These glasses are perfect for storing any plant, flower or herb and as they are clear, they act as a mini vase and can be styled in any room.
So those are our simplistic ways to re-use your empty candle jars, I hope this sparked some creativity in you and can help us to do our bit for the planet whilst creating storage for ourselves!
